Chapter 6

One of the things that this chapter talks about is interviewing people. There are several ways to have interviews, nondirective, structured, situational, behavior description and panel interviews. There are advantages and disadvantages to both. I think that people put out there best foot forward for the interview and the comeback 20% when they are working. And so I think if they are not 20 % better then what you want then down the road you will get a lesser person.

For my job I need to interview people on a weekly basis because we are growing at a fast rate. And always need more people to do work. The problem is that we don’t have a high enough class of person coming in to get a job.

This leads me into my question how can I put out a job posting that will entice people of a higher class to come work for us?

  1. I agree. I think back on the interviews I've done in the past. I remember trying to put together a resume based off the crappy teenager jobs I had had in the past. "Administrative Assistant" on my resume really just mean I took out the garbage. Ya know what I mean?
